How hectic is your life?
Hahahaha, okay, okay, aren’t we all that busy? I know that for me most days start at 6 am, but some start at 4:30 am and don’t end until after 10 pm or later! I thank God that not every day is as such and am thankful for the strength He provides to overcome those long days.
Question: How do you balance life to accomplish the duties and the wants of the day?
Yes, I do believe there needs to be a balance of duties and wants – household chores, work, kids, kid’s homework, exercise, Bible study, volunteer work, entertainment, relaxation, and kid’s sports activities. Have I missed anything?
Let me start by saying this: don’t force life to happen by its rules but rather make rules for life – a balanced life.
Matthew 6:33 (NAS)
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Of all the things that can occupy our minds, time, and hearts, we should make what effects the eternal kingdom priority in our lives. As we work, clean house, raise children, build a marriage, meet the needs of underprivileged – – all of this is for nothing unless we choose to put the kingdom of heaven first. We must seek God and His righteousness.
Seek, defined by Merriam-Webster dictionary, is to go in search of or try to discover.
As we seek Him, God fulfills his promise. All the necessary things we may need, He gives abundantly to us.
Jehovah Jireh, The Lord Will Provide, sees the truth of our actions on display before Him, and He will reward accordingly. Have faith, and He will grow that faith.
Some may believe they are not worthy of being a part of God’s plan, and yet, more than anything, He wants you to see the great things in store for you and your family! Separate yourself from the idea that your external appearances or circumstances have to be clean for up God to love you, rescue, or use you!
For that is not the way He is! All you need is to be willing to open your heart to Him, and He will remove the blinders from your eyes, and you shall have new sight! God is not a God of favorites – all people are His and are loved by Him – it is your choice that either draws you near or keeps you away from the God of love.
The closeness of your relationship with Jesus is directly proportional to the amount of time that you choose to spend with Him each day.
James 4:7-8
Submit, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
First, notice that submission to God comes first, the second is to resist the devil, and the final step is a closer walk with your God, your Father. The enemy loves to tempt believers to do wrong, and the way we counteract is complete submission to God. Meaning we accept God’s wisdom and will; we trust His power and love, and we obey His commands. Nothing disarms the enemy faster than maintaining a humble heart before God.
Balancing life requires knowledge of highest to lowest priorities. What or where do you spend most of your time? With whom? What sacrificed? Do you want a better marriage? Do you want a better work environment? Do you want to raise your children better? Do you want to maintain your home better? Do you want to be fit physically?
Try cutting out some of the extras in your life in better seek God’s kingdom. Learn how to be content with less, so you can have more. Once His kingdom is dwelling in your heart, it becomes a reflection in your actions, and the essential areas of your life will start falling into place, even if your circumstances are falling apart.
