After spending most of the day either writing or braving the cold weather and Oklahoma wind, I decided to go out for dinner.
The greeter led me to a table where I observed the other diners. A family with two boys greedily scarfed down crab legs, biscuits and more while talking about the movie they were eager to go see after their dinner.
In the corner was another family except this one was older as their son appeared to be college age. They seemed to be having an intent conversation.
My waitress appeared all bubbly and happy. She must have been having a good day, or at least she hid it well when the following conversation occurred:
Waitress: Is it cold outside?
Me: Yes, ma’am
Waitress: Still windy?
Me: Definitely
Waitress: Girl, I almost fell off my mom’s front porch when leaving to come to work trying to catch my eyelash, the wind was so strong!
Me: (insert silence and an awkward chuckle)
Waitress: (went about her business saving me from answering)
So that is a funny conversation that happened, but I am wondering, how would you reply? I had no idea when put on the spot.
Have a good day, my friends. K-Trina
